Retrofitting Sheffield - Skills Task Force launch

In October 2024 we hosted an event at Rider Levett Bucknall UK Ltd’s Sheffield city centre office in readiness to pilot the South Yorkshire Retrofit Skills Task Force.

We shared learnings from our field research with housing associations, contractors and training providers and provided a vital networking opportunity. We learn more from peers than panels! And indeed it was the hottest ticket in town.

Speakers from SY Ecofit, Rider Levett Bucknall, South Yorkshire Housing Association and Seddon discussed progress within our region relating to retrofitting and how we can work together to fill gaps.

Enabling people to work together for common goals in busy lives and challenging economic times is a challenge that our speakers and guests shared and one that we have been working on through the development of a Skills Task Force.

We’ll be sharing how these conversations develop over the coming weeks. Thank you to the the government’s Department of Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) and the East & Yorkshire Net Zero Hub and who funded this stakeholder engagement work. Without this funding, how would we know which solutions are most viable for community members?
