Acan! funding

As a leader in sustainable building practices, SY Ecofit is delighted to be supported ACAN! through their Small Funding Pots programme. SY Ecofit was awarded £1000 to promote the crucial role of natural materials in retrofitting traditional and heritage buildings within South Yorkshire. 

Our project culminated in a well-attended workshop on the role of natural materials in retrofit of traditional and heritage buildings with hands-on experience led by local expert Simon Hollis. Over 30 architects, contractors, surveyors, and other professionals gained valuable insights through presentations and the hands-on sessions with materials like lime, hemp, cork, sheep's wool and wood fibre, and a site visit to a recently retrofitted barn. 

This initiative showcased the practical application of natural materials, highlighting their benefits in mitigating risks like dampness and interstitial condensation, while also significantly reducing carbon footprints. The event fostered knowledge sharing and inspired best practices, demonstrating SY Ecofit’s commitment to innovative, environmentally conscious solutions within the built environment. We are proud to partner with ACAN! in driving systemic change and promoting sustainable retrofitting practices.
